Before heading out on the water for the first time, tuition from a qualified instructor is Strongly Recommend. 

Being safe on the water only comes from learning and experience. 

In addition to tuition, instructors host a number of regular social paddles, races, excursions and much more. This can be a great way to find other like-minded people to paddle with.
